Alexey's Dwice

Legendary arcade-logic game, developed by a Russian student Alexei Pashtinov in 1986. The main goal of the Tetris competition is to arrange the blocks falling into the wells in such a way that they form lines.

The program offers six types of blocks with complex shapes. Each of them can be rotated 90 degrees and thus adapted to the existing building according to the viewer's own vision. When a line is full, the line disappears from the well, creating space for the next line. The more lines we manage to get rid of the screen in one stroke (maximum of four), the bigger the bonus points are credited to the player's account.

After the creation of several (nast) lines, the difficulty level increases, which accelerates the falling down of subsequent elements into the well. In later stages you have to show a really big reflex and within a fraction of a second decide where and how to place the block.

Tetris' visuals don't impress - everything in text mode with minimal colour. There is no sound at all. Nevertheless, the gameplay can be extremely addictive, as evidenced by the hundreds of successors realized on probably all hardware platforms. Tetris has become one of the most frequently cloned software in the history of the industry.
