Over the years, H.P. Lovecraft's work has served as a source of inspiration for numerous productions. Among them is The Dark Rites of Arkham, a point & click adventure from Barcelona-based independent studio Postmodern Adventures, which has in its portfolio genre-related projects An English Haunting and Nightmare Frames.

Gameplay

In The Dark Rites of Arkham, events are viewed from the side. The gameplay is based on a scheme classic for the genre of point & click adventure games. During the course of the game we move through locations, talk to NPCs and solve puzzles based on finding objects and using them in a specific way.

Among the places we go to, an important role is played by the Arkham Museum of the Unusual, where we can admire the paintings of painter Richard Upton Pickman, known from the Pickman's Model story. In addition, other names known from Lovecraft's works appear here, such as Herbert West, Keziah Mason, Henry Armitage and Dr. Eric Moreland.
