The Front is a sandbox survival game reminiscent of Rust. It was developed by the independent Samar Studio, with multiplayer in mind.
The Front is set in a post-apocalyptic world. We play as a resistance fighter sent back in time. Our task is to destroy a villainous faction before it turns into a mighty empire.
The Front is a first-person game set in a vast open world, consisting of dense forests, gloomy swamps, vast deserts and snowy mountains. There are also many closed-off areas, such as research and military facilities.
The game's main mechanic is resource gathering. Resources are mainly used to create a base. Over time, we can expand it with workshops and farms to produce new items. After finding some blueprints, we can start crafting weapons and even vehicles. These include pick-ups, trucks, helicopters and mobile guns.
They're extremely valuable, since the game's world is full of dangers, ranging from other players to aggressive monsters. To fight them off, we must wield melee weapons, firearms and various gadgets. Even in our own base we are never fully safe, and thus, we should fortify it beforehand, creating a complex network of traps like in a tower defense game. We can also be assisted by NPCs, who can help us in combat or work at our base.
The Front only supports multiplayer. Players can co-operate or compete, fighting over resources and territory.
The Front features high-quality visuals and a colorful, detailed artstyle.
