The Kids We Were: Complete Edition is an adventure game developed by the Japanese studio Gagex, known for Showa Candy Shop, Hungry Hearts Diner and Oden Cart 4 series.

This is an extended version of the mobile game The Kids We Were from 2020. Compared to the original, micropayments and ads were removed (the iOS and Android release was a free-to-play game) and new story threads were added.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in Japan in the final phase of the Showa Era, i.e. in the 1980s. The player takes on the role of a young boy named Minato who moves with his mother to the sleepy town of Kanami located on the outskirts of Tokyo.

The kid quickly starts exploring the place and making friends with the locals. What most of them don't know is that Minato's real goal is to find his father, who is supposed to live somewhere in Kanami. The only clue is a notebook left to the protagonist with information about " The Seven Mysteries".
