The Last Door: Season 2 Description
The Last Door: Season 2 is an episodic adventure game with a point-n-click interface. This title was inspired, among others, by the horror works of H.P. Lovecraft or Edgar Allan Poe. The game is a continuation of The Last Door - just like in the case of the aforementioned game, it was developed by the independent studio The Game Kitchen.
Story
The story presented in the game takes place in England, at the end of the nineteenth century, in real-life locations and refers to historical events and local culture. The Last Door: Season 2 puts us in the role of Dr. John Wakefield, who is a psychiatrist of Jeremiah Devitt, the protagonist of the first game. Mr. Wakefield begins his adventure in search of his client, who disappeared under extremely mysterious circumstances. The event becomes for him a gateway to the world of forbidden knowledge, conspiracy, terrible secrets and madness.
Mechanics
The Last Door: Season 2 is a classic point-n-click adventure. While traveling through subsequent locations, we solve riddles, talk to other characters, use items and gradually discover a complicated plot. A system of hints helps players to overcome subsequent logic challenges. The game consists of four episodes.
Game modes
The Last Door: Season 2 features single player mode only.
Technical aspects
The Last Door: Season 2 features fully 2D visuals implemented using pixel-art technology. The atmospheric soundtrack by Carlos Viola helps build the atmosphere.
