Champions' Ballad is the second expansion to the best-selling game called Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Similarly to the base game, this add-on is available on Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch.

Plot

The story featured in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champion's Ballad revolves around the four titular Hyrule Champions. They are followed by Kass the Bard who plans to finish the ballad commenced by his teacher. As he is accompanied by Link, players can learn new information regarding Daruk, Reyaly, Mipha, Urbos, and Princess Zelda herself.

Mechanics

Apart from the new storyline, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champions' Ballad introduces another dungeon, a new weapon (One-Hit Obliterator), and additional shrines. This add-on also delivers nine new treasure chests, in which players can find new pieces of armor as well as items known from the previous installments, such as the Island Lobster Shirt, Zant's Helmet, and Phantom Ganon Armor. To top it all, Link's mount can be now equipped with the Ancient Bridle and Ancient Saddle. Players who manage to complete all the challenges prepared by the developers get access to the new means of transport, namely the Master Cycle Zero motorcycle.

Technical aspects

The WiiU and SWITCH release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Champion's Ballad is not a standalone DLC, as it requires the player to own a copy of the base game. This expansion does not introduce any changes to the game's audiovisuals.
