There Is No Light is a dark action game that takes us on a journey to the post-apocalyptic world controlled by demonic forces. The game was developed by the independent studio Zelart and released by HypeTrain Digital.
The action of There Is No Light takes place many years after the global catastrophe that brought humanity to the brink of extinction, forcing the few survivors to live deep underground. Forgetting what the old world looked like, people worship the so-called Great Hand. We're talking about demonic being, which once every few years appears at the underground Central Station, where they live, to take a few newborn children with them. When such a fate meets a descendant of the main character, the protagonist decides to save him. He does not know yet that in this way he has initiated a series of events that will affect the fate of the whole world.
In There Is No Light, the action is shown from the top-down view. As we travel through a vast world made up of gloomy locations, we are primarily engaged in fighting hordes of enemies. The battles are dynamic, and during them we use mainly cold weapons. Each element of the arsenal has a special power; we can use it after charging the anger bar, which we fill up, attacking enemies or destroying elements of the environment. In addition, in the places we visit we meet neutral characters, talking to them allows us to learn more about the game world and the situation of its inhabitants.
There Is No Light has pixelart graphics maintained in a gloomy style, which is enhanced by gentle lighting and colouring. The game is accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack.
