Tour de France 2023

Tour de France 2023 is a cycling-themed sports game. It was developed by Cyanide, the same studio responsible for the series' previous installments.

Mechanics

True to its title, the game focuses on simulating the world's most famous cycling race, held since 1903. This installment in particular is based on the 2023 season. The game is officially licensed, letting the player participate in all 21 official stages of the competitions, racing against actual cyclists and their teams.

The game realistically approaches its subject matter. The developers have faithfully recreated cycling and put a lot of effort into preparing realistic stats for all the athletes and their teams.

The included Pro Leader mode lets players create their own cyclist. First, they choose their specialization and physical attributes. Afterwards the cyclist can be developed by competing. The Pro Team mode, on the other hand, has us take control over a team and play through an entire cycling season. We start at the bottom of the ranking, but succeeding attracts sponsors and lets us compete against the very best athletes.
