Unsung Warriors PC

Unsung Warriors is an action platform game with RPG elements, which takes players on a journey to an alternative version of Europe from the Age of Iron, inspired by Celtic mythology. The production was developed by a duo of independent developers - Mikel Fick and Ramon van Schaik, using the pseudonyms Osarion and Mountaineer.

Plot

Europe falls victim to progressive corruption - people are dying under mysterious circumstances, monsters are getting bolder and bolder and appear more often in areas inhabited by humans, and the highest levels of the social ladder are consumed by greed and corruption. According to the prophecy, however, not everything is lost.

The main protagonist of the game Unsung Warriors is Einar, a young warrior from a barbarian tribe, endowed with immortality. Although his strength grows every day, the protagonist begins to lose control over it. His task is to find the Necromancers who cast this unusual curse on him and remove it before it is too late. Einar is not alone in this quest as from the beginning he is accompanied by his friend Egil. With time, they also meet other interesting characters - the warrior Boudicca or even Lance imprisoned in the hereafter.

Mechanics

In Unsung Warriors players observe the action from the side perspective. The game captures the vast world divided into a number of locations to which players travel from the map menu. Among these locations one can find the besieged city of Ravenport (where our adventure begins), the mountain settlement of Highvale, the freezing land of Whitefay, the dark forest inhabited by people fleeing from mysterious cults, and even the Beyond. In these places players can meet characters who entrust them with various tasks that move the plot forward. In addition, there also are classic platform sections involving avoiding traps and jumping over chasms, as well as countless fights.

Players use an extensive arsenal to fight with hordes of enemies and powerful bosses. Einar makes use not only of swords or clubs, which are perfect for melee combat, but also of spears that allow him to keep enemies at a safe distance, or even bombs to eliminate enemies from a larger distance. All this is complemented by shields that protect the protagonist from enemy attacks and both offensive and defensive spells. Along the way, players collect more and more powerful items and they can get rid of unnecessary equipment by selling them to vendors. In addition, in exchange for the elimination of opponents, we gain experience points, which can be used to purchase various combat skills.

Game modes

Unsung Warriors allows players to enjoy the game solo as well as in cooperation with the other player on the split-screen; the companion then plays the role of Egil, Einar's friend.
