A combination of a real-time strategy game and a space simulator. The title was almost entirely designed by a single person – Paul Zakrzewski, an independent developer. The player assumes the role of a general who comes back from a retirement when an intergalactic conflict begins. The game takes place near the so-called Sun Gate, an installation which enables people to quickly travel between planetary systems.
Void Destroyer for PC is a game that combines features of a space real-time strategy game and of a space simulator. The title was almost entirely designed by Paul Zakrzewski, an independent developer.
Void Destroyer for PC takes place in a distant future, in sectors near the so-called Sun Gate that enables people to quickly travel between remote planetary systems. The player assumes the role of a famous general who spends his retirement as a test pilot working for one of the military organizations. When a new conflict starts, he ends his retirement and takes command of a fleet.
The PC version of Void Destroyer combines features of space strategies and space simulators. During the game the player is building bases, constructing ships, gathering resources, discovering new technologies, participating in diplomatic negotiations and conquering enemy territories. The title was inspired by the Homeworld series and it features the most important trait of that series, fully three-dimensional battles. The units are able to freely fly in all directions of the map.
During the game it is possible to take control of a single ship and personally lead an assault. However, it doesn’t mean resigning from controlling the fleet. Whenever needed, it is possible to jump to the tactical view and give proper orders during an active pause. Then the player can jump back into the ship. The game is powered by an engine that features realistic physics that control the behavior of all objects present in space.
