Wordle

Wordle is an online word guessing puzzle game. The title began life as a personal project of Josh Wardle, a technical engineer from Brooklyn. The American prepared Wordle as a gift for his wife, who liked puzzles. She liked the game so much that the couple soon shared it with relatives, and many months later Wardle made Wordle available for free on his website. Wardle developed also two other small productions: The Button and Place.

Game mechanics

The gameplay in Wordle is very simple. Once a day we try to guess a five-letter word chosen by the game. Each time we have only six chances to enter the right word.

However, we do not guess completely blindly. At each attempt, the game marks every letter. The black letters do not appear in the solution of the puzzle, yellow letters are in the wrong place, and green letters are spelled correctly. So by trial and error you can deduce the word you need.
