World Rally Fever: Born on the Road PC

World Rally Fever is a purely arcade racing game in anime style. The British Team 17 studio is responsible for its creation, known mainly from the Body Blows and Alien Breed series started on Commodore Amiga computers. The authors treated the realism and physics of driving in a macabre way, offering players a typically arcadic entertainment straight from the saloon slot machines.

In the game we take part in crazy racing struggles, played on sixteen different routes. They are located in 10 different countries of the world, such as the United States, Brazil, France, Scotland and Japan, and each of these places has of course a slightly different visual style and structure of the track. The races were divided into several separate championships, ranked according to the degree of difficulty. Before each of them we choose our character from among eight available vehicles and their drivers, whose individual driving style determines the grip of the car. While playing, the route is full of obstacles, such as fences, animals and haystacks. Fortunately, we have a number of power-ups scattered on the tracks and the ability to jump at the touch of a button.

As already mentioned in the introduction, the World Rally Fever offers a purely dexterity riding model. The gameplay is very dynamic and the camera that follows us adapts instantly to developments on the track. The sprite-based graphic design was prepared in anime style, which can be seen especially in the character models. The rally competition is accompanied by music in CD-Audio format, available on the game disc.
