The cornerstone of the 2023 game titled Backpack Hero was its original combat system, where our success on the battlefield was determined by the arrangement of items in our inventory. Over time, it inspired imitators, including online auto battlers like Backpack Battles and the game Wretch: Divine Ascent described here. It was created by the independent studio Ogopogo.

Gameplay

In Wretch: Divine Ascent the gameplay involves engaging in online 1-on-1 duels. As befits an auto battler genre representative, once our character enters the battlefield, we can only watch how they fare against the opponent. To ensure their victory, we must properly prepare them for battle.

Characters and equipment

The game offers us a variety of units, including a knight, ronin, and assassin. These characters differ in terms of preferred weaponry, fighting style, and available moves.
