Halo Wars 2: Mission 1 - The Signal

Main Objectives: Reach the source of the signal, and the evacuation zone with the Pelican.

Optional objectives:

• Locate all Phoenix register (6).
• Complete the mission without receiving 50% of damage.

Bonus:

• Kill 5 squads of Grunts, by running them over with the Warthog (5).

Jerome, Alice and Douglas are your three Spartans.

This is a rather simple mission that should introduce the basic aspects of the gameplay. There is little to no challenge. The first part of the mission is all about exploring the map with a modified version of the Warthog. There are some Phoenix registers that you can collect on your way. Once you use the portals and reach the research institution, you will have to escape from the Banished army. You won't be able to defeat all of them, so don't waste your time on unnecessary encounters. If you want to unlock the bonus, use Warthog's special ability to kill Grunts. Keep in mind that evacuation is your priority.
