Heavy Rain: Sleazy Place
On this page of our guide to Heavy Rain you will find a description of Sleazy Place scene. This is the first stage in which you will take control of a completely new character - Scott Shelby. The level includes visiting Lauren's apartment, where Scott's is going to fight with someone, among other things.
Now you will meet with Scott, the second of four main characters. He's a private detective that investigates the Origami Killer case. Get inside the building and talk to the man at the reception. Few bucks will remind him where the woman you are looking for is. Go upstairs and walk through the hall to the last room on the left. Knock on the door and catch it before the woman closes them (QTE). You can also try knocking again.
Leave the money on the table and walk to her. Now you will have to talk with her. The best way is to pick following options in this exact order: Compassion, Convince, Trick. You should definitely avoid the "buy" option - you would have been prematurely asked to leave the apartment. After using this sequence of dialogue options Lauren will start telling you about the life of her son and you will unlock the Private Eye trophy. Now go towards the exit. Leave your card on the table.
You will have a sudden asthma attack. Use the inhaler. It's going to be in the last pocket. In the meantime some guy will make himself a guest in Lauren's room. Walk to the door and knock. Then, use a shoe on the door. You will have to fight the guy.
Alternatively, you can ignore the thug who showed up at Lauren's apartment and leave the location immediately. However, this is not a good way to behave.
It's the first real fight in the game, one of dozen more that you will participate in. It is a long QTE sequence in which try to follow the on-screen instructions.
The fight can have two endings:
- Scott wins the fight and the thug escapes - as a reward for saving Lauren you will get the White Knight trophy.
- Scott loses the fight - it will happen if you fail with few QTE sequences during the fight.
Losing the fight has no serious consequences in the rest of the game, but the chance of winning the battle will be lost. You can load the previous checkpoint and try again.
