Homeworld Deserts of Kharak: Mission 13 - Khar-Toba Site

Artifacts to obtain:

• Random (we wreck [7]-[14]).

Primary objectives:

• deploy 3 scanners in marked spots and defend them for around a minute;
• fight Ashinta back and destroy it;
• defeat Gaalsien Flagship.

You have to deploy scanners and defend them until the moment at which scanning ends.

The last mission tests your reflexes and mobility. First of all, go to the marked area as Rachel [1]. After you examine it, the carrier will arrive. Now, Rachel's vehicle will become inactive for some time. You have to use Baserunners to deploy 3 scanners in the marked spots around the wreck. You can expect the enemy attempts to destroy them. You have to hold your positions and defend the scanners for around a minute. Throughout that time, you will be attacked from East, West and North.

Hint: It is a good idea to compose your army mainly of Battle Cruisers, Railguns (they do not cost you Ru), Artillery Cruisers and aircraft. Also, produce several Missile Cruisers and a Support Cruiser for each of the defense squads. Also, start researching into upgrades for these units.

The enemy will use numerous planes. Upgrade your AA units

After you have scanned the area, the enemy Carrier - Ashinta - will approach from the North. [5]. It is not going to stand fallow. You can follow it in the tactical view. It will move South, along the Western side, where it stops near your base [6]. There will be no more attacks from the North and from the East, which is why you can start gathering resources.

Hint: Before the enemy approaches your base, you can dispatch Rachel to searching for artifacts. the chances are high that you find one nearby, to the South of the base. [10].

Attack Ashinta only when your path is clear - do not lose too many units.

Main attacks will be incoming from the direction of Ashinta. If your army meets the limit of units, you can launch an attack. But it is better to wait until the moment that Ashinta gets closer to the wreck. The reason is that after you defeat Ashinta, you will have to fight another Cruiser that is even more powerful - Gaalsien Flasghip. It will move along path similar to Ashinta's and after you defeat the first opponent, have to be prepared to fight the flagship straight away. Therefore, harass Ashinta and monitor production of your units (you should try to maintain over 100 units of the fleet for the entire time).

Hint: try not to lose too many units and spend the resources that you save up on upgrades. If possible, remember to use Cruise Missile.

You can send against Gaalsien Flagship all that you have, just to win.

You can let the flagship approach and attack with Kapisi (before that, spend your points mainly on defenses [Reactive Armor] and attack strength [Turret Network]). As soon as you launch the attack, do not stop - the enemy will be quickly producing new Cruisers, and your only objective is to destroy the Flagship. You will also deal severe damage using bombers.
