In a nutshell:
- Respawn has unveiled Valkyrie, the heroine that will be coming to Apex Legends with the start of Season 9;
- Footage revealing the new legend includes references to Titanfall 2.
Yesterday, the official YouTube channel of Apex Legends shared another episode of "Stories From the Outlands," a series that profiles each of the game's characters. The latest video introduces us to Valkyrie, the legend who will come to the game along with the launch of season 9. What's interesting, the material shows a glipse of the first titan we see in the game.
The whole video contains references to Titanfall 2, another game by Respawn, set in the same universe. Kairi "Valkyrie" Imahara is the daughter of Viper who is one of the antagonists in the aforementioned game. In released video we see that her father had a big influence on the childhood of the new legend - from an early age she used to sit in the cockpit of her father's titan - Northstar. Years later, the same machine will be modified and adapted for her use.
Another antagonist from Titanfall 2 also appears in the video, Kuben Blisk, who is responsible for creating the Apex Games competition on which the gameplay in Apex Legends is based.
The "Legacy" update implementing Valkyrie and simultaneously inaugurating the 9th season in Apex Legends will be released on May 4. In addition to the aforementioned legend, it will also introduce the Bocek Bow, another battle pass, and a new ranking. The map Olympus will also be modified, gaining more vegetation.
According to the creators, season 9 of Apex Legends is to be an extremely ambitious project. On the occasion of the announcement of Apex Legends Mobile the developers noted that in the near future the game will receive its biggest update yet.
