After three years in early access Baldur's Gate 3 finally made its way to players as completed game. Despite this developers from Larian Studios are not idle and have already released the first major patch for the game.

The list of fixes is impressive, but players should be most interested in the fact that the patch eliminates a bug with game state saving. Recall that the title "crashed" during data synchronization, making it impossible to save or load the game. From the information provided by the developers, this was blamed on the cross-save feature, by default allowing for the transfer of saves between platforms..

As Baldur's Gate 3 will not come out on PlayStation 5 until September 6, the developers have decided to disable this option until they find another solution to the problem. At the same time, the developers assure that the change should not cause any conflicts with Steam cloud.

In addition to temporarily fixing this particularly significant problem, the update includes fixes for more than 150 other bugs, which include movie cutscenes. A full description of the update can be found here.

Great start

Finally, let us remind you that Baldur's Gate 3 has been recording spectacular results on Valve's platform since the release of the full version. According to the charts recorded by SteamDB, on August 6, the title was played simultaneously by 814,666 people. At the time of writing this news, Larian Studios' game is in 9th place on the list of Steam's most popular games.
