Baldur's Gate 3 debuted on the market and what a premiere it was! The number of active users grew at an alarming rate and the current peak stands at 472,136 concurrent users. There is also no shortage of overwhelmingly positive reviews.

The vast majority of comments related to the latest work of Larian Studios are positive, and it's hardly surprising - Baldur's Gate 3 is praised for its storyline, graphics, freedom of choice, or satisfying gameplay. However, players appreciate not only the game itself, but also the developers. They exceptionally liked their approach to microtransactions.

This is how video games should be made

On Reddit, one fan of BG3 posted Larian Studios' response to one of the burning questions - whether there will be microtransactions in the game. The developers replied that no, because they believe it is possible to deliver an immersive gaming experience without additional monetization in the form of the ability to purchase anything with real in-game currency. This is not the first time the developers addresses this topic - such information is also found on the official website of Baldur's Gate 3.

Larian Studios' approach has been met with appreciation from players, who do not spare the studio warm words. Fans praise the developers, also mentioning FromSoftware, which also focuses on providing an immersive experience devoid of microtransactions.

I bought Baldur's Gate 3 just to support the developers

It's clear from the comments that fans believe in Larian Studios' vision. In a similar vein, youtuber Asmongold announced that he bought Baldur's Gate 3 not to play the game, but to support the developers because of their exemplary approach to video game development..

The Youtuber said straightforwardly that any developer deciding to release a game that offers a complete experience without the function of buying additional items and upgrades should be respected, because such situations are unfortunately few.

Toward the end of his video, Asmongold noted that in recent years, independent developers (like Larian) producing indie games have shown that it is possible to create a very satisfying and complete experience without charging extra and as he stated, over the past 3-5 years he has derived greater pleasure from playing so-called "indies" than AAA productions.

As a gamer, I would like this approach to game development to become standard - as it used to be, because while I don't mind the option of buying cosmetic items, the option to purchase character enhancement boosts simply spoils the satisfaction of the gameplay. And even more so when it affects players who can't afford it or who consciously give it up.

Finally, let's recall that Baldur's Gate 3 is available on PC via Steam. On PlayStation 5 consoles, the game will debut on September 6..
