Enough time has passed since its release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, this year's installment of the bestselling FPS series, to be able to say without any doubt that the game has turned out to be a nightmarish disappointment.

  1. Cod: MW3 has the worst reviews in the history of the series. On OpenCritic the average rating of industry media is 59%. The game was already receiving poor ratings due to a disastrous story campaign. As you can see, the release of multiplayer and zombie modes did not improve the reception of the game.
  2. The previous worst rated installment of Call of Duty was CoD: Vanguard from 2021, which has an average score of 72%.
  3. Both Modern Warfare 3, and Vanguard were developed by Sledgehammer Games, but in both cases it is hard to blame the developers themselves, as both games had a significantly shorter development time than is standard for the series.
  4. The latest installment of the series also disappoints the players. On Steam only 27% of reviews Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III are positive, which is categorized as mostly negative reception. This is also the worst result in the history of the series - the previous most criticized major installment was Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (60% positive reviews on Steam). MW3 is doing even worse than the review-bombed free spin-off, Call of Duty: Warzone, which has 33% positive reviews.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to say exactly how dire the reception of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III translates into activity results. All this is because in the Steam database, the gme functions as DLC for the Call of Duty launcher, which also includes Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. The activity record for all these games yesterday was 148,230 concurrent users. It is not known how this number is distributed among individual titles. However, it is worth noting that last year during this period the launcher could boast a daily record of 491,000 people playing simultaneously.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.
