The developer of Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't rule out that the game will receive further updates in the future, introducing new content.
The last major update, which introduced a ton of new content to Cyberpunk 2077, was released in December 2023. Since then, smaller or larger patches have been released for the CD Projekt RED studio's game, focusing on fixing specific bugs. Fans of the game shouldn't expect to receive any new features or weapons, as only a handful of people are currently working on Cyberpunk, and the studio is focusing on developing other projects, including the new Witcher.
However, it turns out that this chapter isn't completely closed. Cyberpunk director Gabe Amatangelo, who took part in an interview recently published on the Skill Up YouTube channel, said:
There might be some small things in the future. It really comes down to how the focus is working on the sequel for Cyberpunk, and as opportunities present themselves, if there's like a little something - a low-hanging fruit if you will, and someone on the team is passionate about it - we're open to it.
The exact content of such updates is unknown, but they would probably include new items or missions. The example of The Witcher 3 is worth mentioning here, as it received a significant next-gen update over a year ago, providing players with access to extra graphic options and content inspired by the Netflix series. Therefore, Cyberpunk 2077 may also be updated with new "goodies" or things as part of some cooperation in the future.
For now, CD Projekt RED isn't planning any major updates for the RPG released in 2020, so game fans will have to arm themselves with patience. You can make the wait for its sequel or updates to the first game more interesting by searching for secrets in Cyberpunk, as not all of them have been discovered yet.
