Cyberpunk 2077 Goes Blade Runner Thanks to Flying Cars Mod

Flying cars like from Back to the Future or Blade Runner in Cyberpunk 2077? Thanks to the work of a modder it is possible.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • A mod introducing flying cars to Cyberpunk 2077 has been released;
  • The mod also rebuilds the navigation system to fit the new travel style;
  • Currently, the mod is available as a beta on GitHub.

The action of Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the distant future, but still, as players we're forced to move around the Night City in an archaic way. We won't find here flying cars straight from Back to the Future.

However, a new mod changes this situation. You will be able to take your car to the skies and see the neon city from a new perspective.

Blade Runner-like travel

The author of the mod is user jackhumbert, and his work is called Let There Be Flight. He published his mod on GitHub, where you can download it for free.

Of course, keep in mind that this is a beta version, so it may still be full of bugs. Nevertheless, at this stage jackhumbert made sure that using the mod was easy and enjoyable.

Let There Be Flight makes all vehicles available in the game get the ability to fly. As you can see on the YouTube videos, the effect of this experiment looks really good.

In addition, the author of the mod has adapted some elements of the game to interact with a new way of traveling. A new navigation system, which originally was not created for determining the sky routes, has been built.

Cars received a kind of ejection option, which helps when the vehicle is about to explode.

So it remains to download the mod and see Night City from a completely new perspective. Instructions on how to install the mod can be found on GitHub.
