In Desynced, you have to build facilities on an alien planet from ground up to repair your crashed ship. It’s an unique automation sci-fi strategy game that does not utilize conveyor belts. Instead, various operations are carried out by drones connected to a logistics network. Some of those tasks are enabled by Components, which can be attached to bots or buildings. One of such components is the Shared Storage. Find out how to use it in this guide.

Desynced - How To Use Shared Storage

The Shared Storage can be equipped to buildings. However, from its name, it may be difficult to figure out what exactly it does. This component is used to manage inventory overflow; that is, the situation where all your warehouses are full. By using the Shared Storage, you can designate a building as the place for extra materials when other storage is filled.

You have to properly set up the building with the Shared Storage for it to work. You do so by fixing (locking) slots containing a given material. The excess supplies from other warehouses will be automatically sent to the appropriate slot in the Shared Storage building by bots. Thanks to this, you can be in control of where your materials are stored and organize efficiently.

You can (and should) have multiple designated overflow storages as you progress through the game so your drones can always find a place to store items.

Keep in mind that Desynced is in Early Access on Steam, and that its features may be changed or expanded upon. Check the game’s official Discord for updates.
