Dragon Age 4 Still Far From Launch and Showing Multiplayer Roots (Leak)

According to the latest revelations provided by Tom Henderson, the release of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf may be further away than previously thought. In addition, some interesting information about the game mechanics has emerged.

In October of last year, BioWare announced that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf (colloquially still referred to as Dragon Age 4) has entered the alpha testing phase and can be played from start to finish. This in turn revived speculation about the title's debut date. Many thought that the next installment in the iconic RPG series could premiere at the end of 2023, but according to a recent report from Insider Gaming, the estimates were overly optimistic.

Two anonymous sources contacted by Tom Henderson revealed that the game still lacks things like voice over. Moreover, still present are "remnants from the previous version of the game, before a new direction was taken for it in early 2021.". Recall that Dreadwolf was originally intended to focus on multiplayer mode, but then the project was transformed into a traditional single-player experience.

From the rest of the report, we learn that the combat system in Dreadwolf is inspired by Final Fantasy XV and is more like an action game than a tactical RPG, as it has been so far. Players won't be able to directly control all team members, instead giving them orders to use specific skills during combat (presumably like in Mass Effect).

Like in DA: Inquisition, the game is also rumored to have a kind of command center, which we will visit between missions and gradually upgrade. There we will interact with the members of our party, growing gradually as we complete more missions, and adjust equipment. Interestingly, initially - in the multiplayer version of the game - this place was supposed to operate on a somewhat similar basis to hubs from Destiny.

Unfortunately, that's it as far as new unofficial reports on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf go. So there's nothing left for us to do but to be patient and await more tangible information from BioWare.

Below you can watch a short teaser trailer of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, revealed during The Game Awards 2020.

Instead of exercises in maths, he preferred shutting himself up in his world and inventing new stories of his favorite anime – Dragon Ball. After years of study came a time of stagnation, which he preferred to call "searching for purpose." Looking out for destiny during the 58th screening of his beloved Die Hard, he decided – like John McCLane – to fight for a better future. He found the avenue to do this in Gamepressure. Since he's still a freshman in the newsroom, he doesn't have a target subject he wants to focus on yet. So, you can expect news about farming simulators, or the impact of Johnny Depp's trial on the future of Pirates of the Caribbean.
