Final Fantasy XVI Longer Than Predecessor; Playthrough Time Revealed [UPDATE]

The release of Final Fantasy XVI is just over a quarter away. To relieve the fans who froze in anticipation, the developers are sharing information on the length of the upcoming game.

Yesterday's reports are supplemented by a short gameplay shared on the official Japanese profile of Final Fantasy XVI on Twitter. The video shows a fight involving the main character's wolf, Torgal.

The release of the next installment of the legendary Final Fantasy series is just a few months away. As a result, new information about Square Enix's upcoming flagship game is appearing online. The latest concerns the playthrough time.

In an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, director Hiroshi Takai and producer Naoki Yoshida revealed some of the secrets regarding the time required to complete the title. The interview, conducted entirely in Japanese, was summarized by Twitter user aitaikimochi. Her post reads:

"FFXVI is a story-focused game that will take you on a "roller coaster journey." You will experience Clive's entire life story, and the game will likely take about 35 hours to complete. If side content is included, this time will be doubled," wrote Hiroshi Takai

The estimated length of the game is quite impressive, and slightly longer when compared to the previous installment of the series. According to howlongtobeat.com estimated completion time for Final Fantasy XV varies from 28 to 53 hours.

In addition, the developers in the interview mention the game's current world ranking system and New Game+ Mode, dubbed "Final Fantasy Mode" here.

Final Fantasy XVI will debut exclusively on PlayStation 5 on June 22 this, year.
