Fans Still Work on Half-Life: Alyx Without VR; It's Almost Perfect Now
A group known as SoMNst presented the progress of the mod for Half-Life Alyx, which will enable us to play the title without VR goggles. At this stage, the whole thing is working very well.
Right after the release of Half-Life: Alyx work began on mods that would enable us to play the game without VR goggles. Recently, a group known as SoMNst, responsible for one of these projects, published a video (available below), which showed the progress of their work. It shows that the effects are satisfactory and the whole thing works already very well.
The video shows fragments of gameplay from Half-Life: Alyx adapted to play without VR. It shows how the player interacts with various elements of the environment (the foundation of fun in virtual reality) and fights opponents. It is worth remembering that this is not the only ambitious mod for Half-Life: Alyx. Work is also underway on an extensive adventure entitled Levitation. The last information about it - along with a long gameplay recording - was presented two weeks ago, during the PC Gaming Show 2022.
