Multiplayer and Crossplay in Roots of Pacha Explained

In this guide we will tell everything about multiplayer and crossplay in Roots of Pacha. Read our text to learn more.

Roots of Pacha is a new game about farming, released in version 1.0 on April 25 2023. It brings to mind Stardew Valley or Sun Haven. The player goes back in time to prehistory and becomes one of the tribe members. Protagonist’s task is to discover the world, develop the community and learn about their mysterious and magical destiny. However, you don’t have to do it alone – there is multiplayer mode in the game. In this guide we will tell you about it.

Multiplayer in Roots of Pacha

It is possible to play in multiplayer mode. Unfortunately, there is only online co-op available. So, it is a sad message for people who were hoping for local split screen. Each person must have their own copy of the game and gaming platform.

You can play with up to 3 other friends (so max 4 players). To join someone else’s session, you have to know the code. It can be checked by a host at the beginning of the game, or later in the menu. It is drop-in drop-out system.

Crossplay in Roots of Pacha

For now, the game was only published on Steam (so PC), however it is going to be released also on Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. Developers announced on their official Discord server that there will be crossplay in the game. Sadly, there will be no cross-saves.
