Cave puzzle in Roots of Pacha

In this guide we will tell you how to complete the cave puzzle in Roots of Pacha. Learn about the Armadillo and Flint.

Roots of Pacha is a recently launched farming game, which was released in version 1.0 on April 25, 2023. It is similar to popular titles such as Stardew Valley or Sun Haven. In the game, players experience prehistoric times and become members of a tribe. The main goal is to explore the world, develop the community, and unravel your mystical fate. At some point of your adventures, you will encounter the cave puzzle. We will tell you about it.

How to unlock caves

To unlock caves, you must wait 4 in-game days, this will automatically start the Caves are calling quest. Go to the cave, it is at the end of the Forest location. When you enter it, the game will unlock the entrance to the deeper parts.

When you are in, you can gain access to more caves by destroying rock boulders. However, watch out, in the second cave two passages will open. At the moment, you are not able to do anything with the one situated to the west. Just keep destroying stones until you will unlock the one to the north.

In the fourth cave, you will find the Armadillo statue. You have to unlock it.

Armadillo puzzle

In caves, there is a big Armadillo statue. You have to unlock it, to take part in the special challenge. You can do it by giving it one of two items – pomegranate or pinecone. It is possible to learn about it from the glyph in one of the caves. Both of these objects can be found in the Forest. Just interact with the proper trees.

Giving the item to the Armadillo will initiate a cutscene with running totems. You have to count magical creatures – there are five of them. Guessing correctly will unlock a fast travel.

Caves, flint and better tools

This challenge will let you enter deeper into the caves and discover flint. It is a crucial component of better tools. Just go to Acre. She can make them for you. It is important because at some point of exploring caves you will encounter wooden roots which have to be cut with an upgraded axe.

Owl Totem

After a few destroyed rocks, the entrance to the Owl Totem will be unlocked. To enter it, you have to upgrade your axe to Flint and cut roots which block the way. As in the case of the previous totem, you have to offer some items. You need to give a fish, pinecone and a root (carrot for example).

After this, you will unlock the next challenge. It is about focusing the light beam on the statue in the middle of the cave. You can read more about it here.

A Very Dark Room and Obsidian

After the completion of the Owl Totem challenge, you can change into this bird thanks to special symbols on the ground (like in the puzzle). You have also acquired a map.

To proceed further, from the Owl Totem, you have to go back to the cave called A Short Flight (check the name on the map). Change into an owl and fly northwest. There is a passage to the next part of caves.

Pass a location with no name and enter A Very Dark Room. There are 2 important places here. A passage in the east of the cave (it will give you an access to obsidian, we write about it here) and a wall with handprints in the north.

To access the wall, in the dark part of the cave, you have to go straight north and turn left, when it will be possible. Pass the small cave and light a torch in the room behind it. Interact with the wall. Thanks to it you will update Protected by Spirits Prophecy.
