Netflix's The Witcher - Production of 2nd Season Begins This Month?

Thanks to a tweet of the show's props specialist we learned that the production of the second season of The Witcher may start this month.

Geralt's TV show will air at the end of the year.

We're still waiting for the premiere of The Witcher. However, Netflix has to be sure of the success of the project, as there are many indications that the second season's pre-production will start this month.

Editors of Redanian Intelligence discovered that a props specialist boasted of his involvement in The Witcher's production and said he would start work at the end of November. The website has hidden his name in order not to cause him any problems, because he should not reveal such information on Twitter.

Redanian Intelligence points out that the said props specialist most often worked with the British Shepperton Studios. It's consistent with last month's rumors. According to them, the series' creators will not return to Hungary during the second season and most of the episodes will be made in Great Britain, which will be the main production center for European Netflix projects.

If the production of the second season of The Witcher starts in a few weeks, the shooting should start in the next two months. Assuming the pace of the first series is maintained, we should expect the release of the second season in the first quarter of 2021, although the fans probably hope that this time the creators will finish faster.

Let us remind that the first season of The Witcher will debut on 20 December this year. It will consist of eight episodes and all of them will appear simultaneously. It is worth mentioning that the production's showrunner, Lauren S. Hissrich, in a recent interview admitted that she has plans for seven seasons.
