NieR: Automata PC Patch Release Date Revealed

NieR: Automata will receive a new update on Steam. This is the result of a spirited response from players, who demanded this type of action through review bombing.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • NieR: Automata will receive a new update on Steam;
  • It is the result of review bombing carried out by players;
  • The patch will focus primarily on improving the game's visuals.

A few months ago, the web went abuzz with news that the version of NieR: Automata available in Xbox Game Pass looks and runs better than the one available on Steam. This caused a vivid reaction from players, who expressed their dissatisfaction by review bombing the title on the latter platform. Fans wanted to force PlatinumGames to release an update that would make PC edition work as well as the one on Game Pass.

They finally achieved their goal and two months ago the developers announced that they were working on a patch. And now the time is coming when it will finally be made available to players. We will be able to download it in two days, on July 15. It will offer a few improvements, which are to upgrade the game's visual aspects.

Among the changes mentioned there is HDR support and anti-aliasing optimization. Developers are also to improve the quality of about 270 interface textures, adjusting them to 4K resolution. NieR: Automata will now also support Fidelity FX, we will also be able to run the game in windowed mode without a frame. In addition, cut-scenes will be shown at 60 fps, and we'll have global lighting quality settings at our disposal.

In addition, the developers are to fix some bugs that still existed in the game. The title will also become supposedly more stable. The full list of changes can be found in the announcement on Steam.
