Num Lock Trick in Last Epoch; Autocast Explained

There is a trick in Last Epoch that enables you to toggle autocast. In this guide you will learn how the num lock trick works.

Last Epoch is a hack'n'slash action RPG, in which you find yourself in a fantasy world. During the adventure you will use skills on numerous occasions. However, you don't have to do it manually. After all, players have discovered a way to autocast. Here you will learn what the num lock trick is based on.

Keep in mind that this is not an official method. The developers are aware of its existence, but so far there has been no active effort to ban it or punish its use. However, it is not certain that this attitude will not change. After all, Last Epoch received a multiplayer mode, so num lock trick could be considered a cheat. So far, the developer has not officially addressed how the trick will be received after the latest update.

Last Epoch - is there an autocast?

During battles in Last Epoch you will use various skills, which you will have to activate manually. To do this, you need to press the appropriate key (by default Q, W, E, R).

However, there is a way to bypass this and enable something that works like an autocast. However, this is not a solution created by the developers, but a trick discovered by the players. It is based on the use of the numpad. So if you do not have one, using this method will be impossible.

Last Epoch - how to set the num lock trick?

To use the num lock trick you need to go into the key binding settings. Then find the rows of skills in the table. With the selected one as the second key, point to any digit from the numeric keypad. Then save your selection and return to the game.

Once you have done this, you must follow the following steps:

  1. use the selected ability by pressing any of the assigned keys;
  2. activate NumLock;
  3. press the ability key again and, still holding it, deactivate NumLock.

From now on, your character will regularly and independently use the selected ability. This will continue to work until you turn off the game or minimize it.
