People Can Fly has shown the ways it will be using to make the life of cheaters difficult in Outriders. They will be flagged and not allowed to play with honest players.
Devs at People Can Fly found an interesting way to fight cheaters in Outriders. There will be no use of collective responsibility, but the devs will stigmatize people who break the rules and make it as difficult as possible for them to play.
Information on the methods of fighting cheaters appeared in the official post on the Steam forum, preceding the release of the game. In it, a subsection appears regarding the cheaters present in the demo version and the methods that will be used to eliminate them in the full version of Outriders.
From the information that has been analyzed, it appears that by the time the number of players in the demo reached 2 million, cheating was committed by about 200 users, which is a very small part of the total (about 0.1%). However, despite such a small number of cheaters, People Can Fly announces a crackdown on cheaters. First of all, restrictions will be imposed on the entire account, not on a single character. People who are caught breaking the rules will be unable to connect with honest players, and the search for other cheaters to play with will take much longer.
On top of that, a discreet marking in the user interface has been planned, informing us that we are dealing with a cheater. So if such a person decides to record a video or share a screenshot, we will easily notice that they are a cheater.
What does the studio treat as cheating?
Accounts will be checked on the game's debut on April 1 and monitored at regular intervals after launch. So if you're planning on having fun with cheating, you'd better give it a rest.
