Have you ever used your name as a nickname in a game? If so, it's unlikely to have ever been banned, which is exactly the problem one popular influencer faces.

For some players, a nickname in a video game is a sacred thing. Some people come up with their names during childhood, while others develop their "gamer identity" over time. Some people also don't really care about their nickname and use a different name in every game.

Besides these groups, there are also those who use their first and last name in a given game. Typically, these are celebrities or streamers who want to be noticed by other players. And what if a given name is on the list of banned names?

Your first and last name are... banned

When considering names that developers find unacceptable, most people will first think of individuals who have infamously made a mark in history and are linked to unpleasant, even horrifying events.

But what about adult film stars? Sasha Grey, a former adult actress, is a passionate video game fan who has been streaming various titles on Twitch since 2019 and is regularly active on social media, publishing content far from that of the +18 category.

However, a recent issue emerged in her streamer career when she tried to create a character in the game Last Epoch and found out that she couldn't use her real name as a nickname, because it was banned. She shared this on X.

The actress tagged the game's official profile and requested to have her name unbanned.

So far, the devs haven't spoken about the whole situation, but Sasha's fans reacted and commented on her post on the platform in a funny way. Some recommended that the issue arises from the fact that the nickname is already taken, while others suggested she attempt to use the name "Sasha The White."

How will it end? We can't tell for sure, but if things go as the actress plans, fans will soon be able to watch streams of Last Epoch on her Twitch channel. The game from 2019 was well-received by players, especially hack-and-slash fans. However, for some of these players in the above situation, it's not about watching a stream of their favorite game.
