Halls of Torment is a roguelike game currently in early access on Steam, in which we choose one of the available characters and battle endless waves of enemies. By defeating them, we gain experience, level up, and upgrade our character. In this guide you will learn who is the Sorceress in Halls of Torment and how to play her to make her as effective as possible in battle.
Sorceress in Halls of Torment
Sorceress is a character class that can be unlocked by defeating 10,000 enemies in Forgotten Viaduct. She hurls a beam of lightning at enemies capable of hitting one or several enemies at the same time. Her spells are powerful on their own, so it's a good idea to choose traits, that increase DPS and add area of effect damage.
How to progress the sorceress in Halls of Torment
Lightning Strike works perfectly here, hitting random enemies located in the player's field of vision. You will get a chance to acquire the ability if you find a papyrus on the map or after defeating a boss (in this case, you can also get equipment).
After gaining a level, we will be able to choose a trait that affects the character's stats. They are random, so it is not always possible to get the ones we would like to activate. If we have such an opportunity, choose traits that increase attack speed, damage and movement speed, making it easier to escape from waves of enemies. Here are some sample traits that are worth your attention.
- Quick Hands - 8% faster attack
- Strenght - 10% more damage
- Swift Feet - 9% greater movement speed
- Colateral Damage - 8% increased area of damage
- Dedication (Nimble) - 9% increased movement speed and +20 to health
From time to time an extremely strong opponent will appear on the map. After defeating him, you will be given the choice of another ability or a chest with three items, from which you can choose only one. It is worth mentioning that if you choose a ring, for example, and you already have equipment of the same type in your inventory, you will have to decide to choose one of them. The items in the chest are random, and here too it is advisable to choose those that increase damage.
