Halls of Torment Guide - Tips for Beginners

In this guide we will provide you with some tips for the game Halls of Torment. Read our article if you want to learn more about it.

Halls of Torment is an exciting new game that combines elements of bullet hell and roguelike genres, clearly drawing inspiration from titles like Vampire Survivors. In this game, you will face relentless hordes of enemies, level up your character, and ultimately defeat powerful bosses. The odds are against you, and a single mistake can be fatal, as death comes easily. However, with each playthrough, you grow stronger, unlocking new perks and characters along the way. Nevertheless, the game is challenging. We will provide you with some tips on how to survive.

Halls of Torment Beginner’s Guide

  1. Be quick – movement speed is extremally important if you don’t want to be surrounded and outmaneuver by enemies.
  2. Attack fast – above also applies to your attacks, if you have a chance, mix speed and strength of your abilities. Of course, level rewards are random, so you may not get what you want (critical attacks are also quite nice).
  3. Do missions – there are many quests which you may complete, track them and try to finish them. It is not only a challenge, you may get additional rewards for them and even unlock some characters.
  4. Move constantly – it is the key feature of the game. If you stop for a moment, you are dead.
  5. Group your enemies – from time to time, you will be overcome by a large number of enemies, it is impossible to defeat them easily. Bu you can outmaneuver them, and make one big group of opponents. Circle around them and move the horde from time to time to collect exp.
  6. Go for the scroll – Scrolls are additional abilities. They add attacks to your arsenal. You can see them marked on the screen. Try to go for them as soon as possible.
  7. Leave the hand for later – the hand is another marker on the screen, it allows you to collect a lot of exp from what you have left. So, it is only natural to wait a little bit, to make the stock bigger.
  8. Upgrade your skills – between runs, you can upgrade heroes and heroines. It costs gold, but thanks to it, it is possible to start with a stronger character.
  9. Unlock Wellkeeper as soon as possible – this person will allow you to equip some items before the fight. It is very important if you want to start with a stronger character. To hire this person, you have to unlock Ember Grounds (kill The Imp Chieftain on the first map). Later reach his cage and find a key.
  10. Watch out for range units – it is easy to evade melee units, however, it is much more difficult to see shots of range opponents and they can be lost among many enemies.
  11. Not all enemies charge – some opponents does not want to meet you face to face, and they do not try to “touch you”. It is a valuable information if you were surrounded. You can rush to them and thay will move, not giving you damage.
  12. Destroy destructible objects – they contain various useful items. They can help you in a desperate situation.
