GSC Game World has released a new trailer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The two-minute footage was presented as part of today's PC Gaming Show.
The video doesn't feature much gameplay. Instead it focuses on the storyline of the second STALKER, which is presented via mysterious cutscenes. You can watch the trailer below.
The footage emphasizes that the dangerous Zone is filled with secrets and puzzles. The main role here is played by the Strider, whom fans of the series will surely know. The man tells the main character about his "lucky charm," while describing his past association with the Monolith - a ruthless religious faction.
If the message of the new trailer didn't confuse you enough, its description may make you ponder or raise even more questions. It is part of a religious formula that we could hear in one of the previous videos - it reads as follows:
"You cannot kill God, just as you cannot get rid of the sky above… But their god was turned off. Hundreds were released from sinister bliss. But how many of them were asking for it? "
The CEO of GSC Game World, Yevgeny Grigorovich, spoke out as part of the PC Gaming Show on the development of STALKER 2 and the expectations of fans. In addition, he stated, that the game has entered the final phase. This may suggest that the game's release will not be postponed once again and it will be released, according to the current plan, in the first quarter of 2024. Information about this debut date can also be found at the end of the new trailer, which can be seen as an additional assurance from the developers that there will not be another delay.
Despite these declarations, we can't be sure that STALKER 2 will indeed be released early next year. In a recent interview with gamersky.com, the developers admitted that they are unable to say how much more is left before the game is actually completed, which may raise some doubts.
