STALKER 2 Delayed Again; New Trailer Gives Exact Release Date
Developers of STALKER 2 have announced exact release date. The production has once again been delayed.
We finally know the exact release date of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. GSC Game World has announced that this game will release on September 5, 2024. A short but atmospheric trailer was also published on this occasion (below).
The game's release has been delayed numerous times due to Russian invasion of Ukraine. So far, the developers have stated that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be released in the first quarter of 2024 (i.e. in the period from January to March). This means that the game has been delayed several months. It is worth noting that the games has already been delayed several times.
On X, the GSC Game World studio informed about the reason for another delay of the long-awaited FPS. The developers explain that last year they visited many game fairs in various countries to give players the opportunity to test S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Thanks to this, they received useful feedback from fans, from which they drew important conclusions.
Although the game captures the atmosphere of the previous parts of the series, its technical aspects still require some time to be perfected. The desire to refine S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and provide fans with the best possible experience at launch is cited as the reason for delay.
Throughout the frankly challenging development process, we understood the time was of the team's main essence. Seeing the scope of polishing and understanding that we canâ??t push your patience too much, we were absolutely dedicated to releasing the game in Q1 2024, and we worked extra hard to meet the release window.
That, however, doesnâ??t change the fact that at the beginning of this year, we still witnessed the certain amount of technical imperfections that hold S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 below the expected standards for the final experience our fans are waiting for.
Let's hope that September 5th will turn out to be the final release date of the game, and the creators will not have to face further adversities of fate.
S. T. A. L. K. E. R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be released on Xbox Series X/S and PC consoles. On the day of the premiere, the game will be available on the PC/Xbox Game Pass service.
