The Last Secret of NieR Automata Finally Discovered

The last remaining secret was discovered in NieR: Automata. It's an unusual cheat that requires the player to execute a complex sequence of moves.

Almost four years after the launch of NieR: Automata, the players finally managed to find the last secret in the game. Lance McDonald discovered a cheat that enables us to jump straight into the final ending and unlock bonus modes right after defeating the first boss. Importantly, this is not a glitch. This option was intentionally prepared by the developers. Activation of the cheat requires us to perform a series of moves in the right place.

In February 2018 the director and screenwriter of the game, Yoko Taro, revealed that fans found all the secrets in the game except one. Now the dev confirmed McDonald's discovery, and the official Twitter account of the NieR series informed that this was indeed the final secret.

Let's recall that NieR: Automata debuted on Western markets in March 2017. Initially, the game was only available on PC and PS4, but a year later it was also released on Xbox One. The project turned out to be a surprisingly big success. On Metacritic, the PS4 edition received an average rating of 88%, and for the PC edition it is 84%. Our editor also appreciated the title, giving it 9/10.

The financial results of NieR: Automata are equally impressive. A few days ago, the developers boasted that the game's sales exceeded five million copies. This result makes the production by far the biggest hit of the Japanese studio PlatinumGames.

Fans of the series will soon receive a new set of secrets to find. This year, we expect the launch of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139, a refreshed version of the previous installment of the series. It will not be a simple remaster. The game will also offer additional characters, storylines and endings.

If you are just thinking about starting your adventure with the PC version of NieR: Automata, it is worthwhile for you to install two mods beforehand. The first one is FAR (Fix Automata Resolution), which improves the performance and stability, and the second is the NieR Automata Texture Pack, which offers improved textures in the game.
