War of the Worlds: Siberia Trailer Shows 19th-century Martian Invasion on Russia
The War of the Worlds: Siberia, an action adventure game that will tell the story of an alien invasion on 19th century Russia, has been announced.
The team at 1C Game Studios has announced The War of the Worlds: Siberia, an action adventure game based on the themes of the classic science-fiction novel.
- For now, only a grim live-action teaser has been made available. We will still have to wait for the first footage of the game itself.
- Neither the target platforms nor the planned release date have been revealed.
- As the title suggests, the game is inspired by the novel War of the Worlds by Herbert George Wells.
- The game will be set in an alternate version of 1896 Russia. The plot will tell the story of a group of residents of St. Petersburg, who, in an attempt to escape the alien invasion, will go to the far east of the country. However, they will not find a safe haven in Siberia, as the extraterrestrial invaders will soon arrive there as well.
The War of the Worlds: Siberia is expected to be the most ambitious project in 1C Game Studios' output, so the team is currently recruiting new developers to help with the development.
1C Game Studios is a company that was originally founded Russia and recently formally relocated to Cyprus. At the announcement of The War of the Worlds: Siberia however, it was mentioned that new developers are currently being sought to work at the Moscow-based studio.
