XDefiant Beta Closed Begins [UPDATE]

Ubisoft does not let us forget about the upcoming free-to-play shooter XDefiant. This time the company invites to participate in another series of beta tests.

New closed beta of online shooter XDefiant continues. You can register via the game's official website. If you haven't received an invitation, hop on over to Twitch, where there is no shortage of gameplay streams and opportunities to get a drop.

The closed beta will last until April 23. Oh, and there are lots of new gameplay videos on Ubisoft's YouTube channel (including beginner's guide, roadmap, presentation of maps and modes, and factions). Below we posted a general trailer of the current content.

Online shooter XDefiant has managed to cause a bit of a stir even before its release. Announced in July 2021, the game lived to see a closed beta, but the media hype around the game quieted down soon after. Next time we heard about the FPS was in 2022, when the developer officially announced the removal of the phrase "Tom Clancy's" from the title, thus cutting the game off from the brand signed with the name of the famous writer.

Now Ubisoft is reminding gamers about the upcoming free-to-play game. It does so by inviting them to the next phase of closed tests.

Closed beta of XDefiant - how to join and under what rules?

As we read on developer's official website, the beta servers will open to new players starting April 13. The tests will last 10 days, so they will end on April 23. The launch event, opening the next stage of the closed beta, will be a special livestream, during which invited guests from the world of esports and streaming will face each other in the game in a special ranked mode.

Players eager to join the tests can sign up on the the game's official website (there you will also find all the details related to signups).

  1. An alternative way to gain access will be to watch selected partner streams related to the game.
  2. After watching 30 minutes of such broadcasts, the viewer should receive access to the servers.

Those who take part in the game can expect additional cosmetic content not available otherwise. The rewards received in this way will then carry over to later versions of the game in the future.

Interestingly, Ubisoft has made it clear that the latest beta of XDefiant will not be encumbered by NDA. This means that any person willing to create and publish content related to the game will have the opportunity to do so.

There will be four playable factions, four complete gameplay modes (Escort, Zone Control, Domination, Occupy), as well as an alpha version of Ranked Mode and thirteen maps.

Platforms and the future of the game

XDefiant will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, as well as Amazon Luna service. The game is expected to run in free-to-play model. Access to closed tests is also free. Unfortunately, for the moment there is no information related to the exact release date of the game.
