Resident Evil 3: Safes - how to open?
There are 3 different safes in Resident Evil 3 Remake. Each safe is locked by default and requires you to enter the correct combination by turning the knob left or right. Read this page to learn where these safes are located. We also gave combinations to all the safes in RE3 Remake and presented their contents.
If you are looking for information about all secrets in RE3 Remake, check out the Collectibles and secrets chapter.
Safe 1 - Downtown

This safe can be found in the Downtown, which is one of the largest areas visited for the first time after completing the prologue and exiting the subway station. You have to examine the apartment building shown in the pictures, which is located in the northern part of Downtown.
The combination to open the safe varies depending on the version of the game:
- If you are playing a version earlier than 1.03, the correct combination is 9 left (stop knob on 9), 1 right (stop knob on 1), 8 left (stop knob on 8).
- If you are playing version 1.03 or later, the correct combination is 9 left (stop knob on 9), 3 right (stop knob on 3), 7 left (stop knob on 7).
Inside, you will find an upgrade for the handgun - Dot Sight Handgun. You can install this sight on your handgun.
Safe 2 - Police Station

This safe can be found at the Police Station - you explore this place as Carlos. You must visit the West Office located on the first floor. The safe is located in the side office - watch out for the zombie crawling out of it.
The combination for the safe is Left 9 (stop the knob on 9), Right 15 (stop the knob on 15), Left 7 (stop knob on 7).
In the safe, you will find a Hip Pouch. Take it to permanently increase Carlos' inventory by two slots.
Safe 3 - Hospital

This safe can be found at the Hospital. You need to go to floor 2f and check out the Nurses' Station. The safe is in the southeast corner of the room (watch out for zombies that will come out of the nearby sick room!).
The combination to open the safe is Right 9 (stop the knob on 9), Left 3 (stop the knob on 3).
Inside, you will find an upgrade for the assault rifle - Dual Magazine. You can shoot 64 rounds without reloading the rifle.
