Age of Empires 4: The Battle of Liegnitz - walkthrough

The following page of the guide to Age of Empires 4 contains a walkthrough of The Battle of Liegnitz mission in The Mongol Empire campaign. You'll learn how to ambush the enemy and how to properly use siege units.

The mission objective is to defeat the Polish army within 20 minutes, before its allies arrive. When you start the mission, a timer will turn on in the upper left corner of the screen.

Destroying the farms

Once the mission begins, divide the army into 2 groups and start burning the nearby farms. By plundering the enemy buildings, you will recover the raw materials needed to produce new warriors.

The Nest of Bees units, taken from your Chinese allies, will set the houses on fire in no time. Destroy as many enemy buildings as possible and immediately start hiring new units.

Use the Market in camp to quickly turn gold and wood into food. Buy as many archers as possible and divide your army.

Send a squad of archers to lure out enemy troops who are north of your settlement. Hide the Nest of Beest units and cavalry between the trees.

Then draw the enemy troops into an ambush. Use the cavalry to attack archers; Nest of Bees will quickly deal with the enemy riders.

Cavalry patrol

Next, you will have to defeat the cavalry that patrols the central area of the map.

Buy upgrades for your army and make additional archers. Rally a Mangudai squad and head north with the leader. Use the leader's ability (Attack Speed Arrow) to increase the reload speed of long-distance units.

Lure enemy cavalry into your settlement and eliminate it with the Nest of Bees.

Defeating the remaining units of the Polish army

Gather your troops and head northeast. Place a squad of cavalry and siege units by the river.

Send a squad of archers to defeat a small group of spearmen. Then, send cavalry and Nest of Bees units to attack a squad of horsemen located on a nearby farm. Put down all survivors at the end.

Follow the road west to reach the last group of the Polish army. Try to use your archers to lure the smaller units away from the rest of the enemy army, and eliminate all remaining units one by one
