Memorize the layout of the bunker rooms
While exploring new rooms in order to find a key object, it is important to remember what the map looks like (and probably take a screenshot). It is located in the Administration Room. Knowledge of the map is crucial, especially when running away from the Beast. There is nothing worse than running into a dead end.
Avoid fighitng the Beast
Although you are equipped with a gun and grenades, they have no effect on the Beast. These weapons might scare the monster away for a moment, but they won't kill it. If you don't know where it is, it's better not to make noise by walking forward while crouching. When escaping from the Beast, you should hide behind closed doors or under a table when the enemy doesn't see you. It will only be safe when the monster roars loudly (then it will move to a new room).
Check the fuel level
In the safe room there is a generator that allows you to illuminate the rooms in the bunker. To do this, you should first add fuel to the tank, and then rotate the lever. However, you should not use the generator too often. Light is useful in fighting the Beast, as the monster is afraid of it. If you plan to leave the Administration Room and look for something nearby, it's not worth activating the generator. It's different when you have to go somewhere farther.
Rats will very often block your way. Besides, they are very dangerous because a few bites are enough to kill you. Moreover, if you get injured, they will start following you, so it's worth healing as soon as you notice them. They are afraid of flares, fire, gas grenades. You can also lure them by throwing meat.
Remember, while exploring the bunker, you will always have too little ammunition for your pistol. Each bullet is valuable and can save your life. Instead of shooting at everything that moves, it's better to save ammunition for extreme situations, for example, when you know you won't escape the Beast, to open a passage or blow up a room by shooting at a barrel of gunpowder.
Watch out for the traps
Some of the rooms have traps, which, when activated, can not only seriously injure you, but also attract the Beast. To detect them, pay close attention to your surroundings. For example, Some of them have a red X drawn on the wall, or have a strange mechanism with a rope.
