Breathedge: Encrypted tapes - what are they for?

On this page of the Breathedge walkthrough you will learn how to obtain and decrypt the encrypted tapes and what they are used for.

You can sometimes find encrypted tapes in coffins (you will get the key necessary to open these in the second chapter, as part of the main plot). You can decrypt them using the interphone. Unfortunately, the one in the first base is damaged.

You'll find the nearest working interphone in the communication module inside the asteroid. At a later stage of the game, you'll be able to build an interphone in your base. To decrypt the tape, grab it with your hand and use the interphone.

What tapes are used for: decrypting the tape reveals a random interesting location on the map by marking it with a question mark. This way you can learn about interesting places without having to explore the less interesting ones. However, there is one condition: you can only have one tape marker active at a time. That means you need to investigate the location before decrypting the next tape.
