The latest Rainbow Six: Siege patch seems to be causing serious hardware and software problems on PlayStation 4. See what to do to protect your console.
PlayStation 4 players are reporting that the latest Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege patch is corrupting their hard drives and causing software issues. The problem seems to arise when you try to add friends in the game – that’s why you absolutely should not invite players to your party, and it will be safer not to play Rainbow Six: Siege at all for now, especially if you have downloaded the update.
The issue coincided with the release of the latest PS4 firmware patch, which is optional, hence someone suggested that the fuss may have been actually been caused by Sony. However, PS4 users who did not download the patch are reporting the same problem after installing the aforementioned Rainbow Six: Siege update. By now, Ubisoft and Sony are surely aware of the problem, but we haven’t heard from them yet.
As for other platforms – Xbox One and PC – the Rainbow Six: Siege update seems to work just fine.
