15 Games That NEED to Become Movies
Hollywood often takes advantage of the most popular gaming brands. This happened in the case of Super Mario, Tomb Raider or, more recently, Uncharted. But there are still many more titles with huge potential waiting to become movies.
Legacy of Cain
- Game genre: action adventure and one multiplayer game
- Movie/TV series genre: action/horror
- Potential creators: Neil Jordan
- Is a movie actually being made? No
- How long it's been waiting: 27 years
Legacy of Kain is a real vampire epic – a non-chronological story of a nobleman turned vampire, Kain, and his subordinate Raziel, whom he sentenced to death. We watch the struggles of these opponents over the course of millennia (especially if you count from death to resurrection of the latter). Rather simple in terms of gameplay, the games offer a unique atmosphere and a great storyline.
Unfortunately, none of them has so far been made into a movie. Moreover, the last of the projects is the multiplayer spin-off of the Nosgoth series, which remains in early access, as can be seen in the image above. It didn't continue the story of Raziel and Kain, only showing the backstage of the fight between humans and vampires. The servers were shut down in 2015.
If there a film adaptation of the series will ever be made, it would absolutely have to be directed by Neil Jordan. The creator of such hits as Interview with a Vampire, The Borgia Family or Byzantium would be able to show the conflict between Kain and Raziel without trivializing it, and would add a criminal spin to the fantastic world.
