15 Games That NEED to Become Movies
Hollywood often takes advantage of the most popular gaming brands. This happened in the case of Super Mario, Tomb Raider or, more recently, Uncharted. But there are still many more titles with huge potential waiting to become movies.
God of War
- Game genre: Brawler action adventure with RPG elements
- Movie/TV Genre: A dark series with references to almost all mythologies
- Potential developers: DB Weiss and David Benioff
- Is a movie actually being made? Yes
- How long it's been waiting: 18 years
Kratos is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable heroes of computer games. The bearded warrior has been slaughtering gods for almost two decades. What's more, with each subsequent installment of the game, it gains more and more supporters. Over the years, he has undergone quite a psychological evolution, and the games themselves have significantly improved in quality.
A series based on the game will be created for Amazon very soon. The creators of The Wheel of Time and The Expanse are supposed to be responsible for the production. Unconfirmed rumors say that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson himself may be cast as Kratos.
And it's hard not to agree that this could be one of the best casting choices for all game adaptations in recent years. However, I am not entirely convinced by the team responsible for the slightly bland Wheel of Time. If they were replaced by DB Weiss and David Benioff responsible for Game of Thrones, the first six seasons of God of War would simply have to become a streaming hit.
