Pathologic 2 is one of the hardest games you can play. According to some, it's even more difficult than Dark Souls. The challenge is both in combat, as well as in survival mechanics, or the constant pressure of running out of time. The second layer of Pathologic 2's difficulty concerns the choices we have to make, the stalemates that we find ourselves in every now and then. In the game, we play a young doctor who comes to an uninviting town. One of the tasks is to uncover the mystery of his father's murder, but a deadly plague is spreading around the town, taking its toll among the inhabitants.
With only 12 days to do everything, we constantly have to decide whom and how to heal, get food, drink and secure the rest of needs. Should you trade with the townspeople or steal from them if there's no other option? Use weapons to your advantage or sell them to buy food? In fact, everything in Pathologic 2 is designed to ensure that we do not feel comfortable and can't control the situation. We are always in dire straits, either struggling with tangible problems or with our own conscience. There's never a moment of respite, for some peace of mind.
