Plot in Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation does not make much sense and serves only as a pretext for action. When the Earth is struck by a beam from space, it turns the world into a video game and the hero from the original title undertakes a mission of saving his friends and humanity.

As the title of the game suggests, it allows the player to assume the role of an eagle and enjoy the freedom of flying. Eagle Flight takes place in undetermined future in Paris, which for some reason was completely abandoned by humans. The player is tasked not only with surviving, but also with discovering what really happened.

The game's title is a blend of the protagonists names. Yooka, the first of them, is a chameleon who has an unusually long tongue, which can be used to grab onto various surfaces and cover large distances. The other one, Laylee, is a bat who can use sonic attacks.

It takes place in the same fantasy land as the first game from the series and, like previously, game's world is presented as 2D retro-stylized maps. To finish each level, we have to find a key that unlocks a portal. Many traps and enemies will try to stop us from doing so. The RPG elements allow us to spend the experience points we gained on leveling up our character.
