The player directs the actions of the cruel Galvis, who wants to get a legendary weapon with which he can destroy the world and the gods who guard it. The production is maintained in a retro style referring to the glory of the SNES console.

In terms of the story, the expansion entitled Swords of Xeen introduces a brand new adventure, taking place in the lands adjacent to those of the original.
